Line dancers use the center of the dance floor. The outside of the dance floor is considered a "circle lane", and should be kept clear for couple or partner dancers. When dancing around the circle as partners, the line of dance (LOD) is always counter-clockwise as shown. Freestyle dancers should dance on the outer edges, and spectators should stand beyond the outer circle as shown.
